Novel Reconfigurable Origami Antennas

This task focuses on novel physically reconfigurable antennas based on origami. We are developing origami antennas that can reconfigure their EM performance (e.g., multi-band, wideband, directional, omnidirectional) using various 1D, 2D and 3D morphing structures. Conductive textile surfaces are used as well to form additional classes of origami antennas. By combining novel robust materials, physical reconfiguration mechanisms, unified computational tools and design methods we are developing game-changing designs that are repeatable, reversible, adaptable, intelligent and robust across time scales.
